The digital imaging fast dry and wet cycle (DC) system is a simple and easy-to-use laboratory device for measuring the suction stress characteristic curve (SSCC), which defines the change in effective stress under varying saturation conditions. From the SSCC curve, the user can obtain the soil-water retention curve (SWRC). SSCC can be measured along a hygroscopic or dehumidifying path within 5-7 days . The system is suitable for all major soil types, including sand, silt (proven) and clay.
